When dreams were stitched by hands both humble, brave, and bold.
Before the weight of wealth could bend the human heart,
Before proud walls were built to keep old friends apart.

Year in, year out you come
In great delusion, an epic interest
Packed in vans of delusive saboteurs,
With pledges, both milk and in honeycomb

A time will come; your reckoning shall be,
When dry rains fall upon your former ways;
And tears shall fill the measure of your days,
While none shall share the grief you brought to me.

Black nights, blindfolded to heaven
Anchored beneath, a steel hell
Everything ill deed is given
A crescent moon bade farewell,

Fly away O! Egrets
In a myriad of beaut design
Brighten up the blue skies
In great clusters of whites.

And how many aches that piles
Down within; in flooded tears
As memories awaken, - of barred years.
