David Kinyanjui Poems

The first time I saw her,
even though it was from afar,
she made me go gaga!
...

I saw them in town,
they were two sitting down.
The big lady was beating drums,
Hum! de-dum! Hum!
...

3.

It happened so fast,
that I found myself in the past.
In a shake of a lambs tail,
I could only tell the tale.
...

Lady of mine,
A precious jewel from the depth of a mine.
You are curved of a valuable stone,
that is tender to touch, soft in tone.
...

5.

I have been dealt with cards,
Some have had me scarred.
It is not as if no one cared,
For that reason, I am not scared.
...

He is slow,
This on him, is as white as a snow.
And so,
He might get a little late to reap what he sow.
...

You have blessed me abundantly,
Taught me that not all things are done abruptly.
As sure as the rising sun in the east,
You set a table for me in your feast.
...

It was fools day.
And since it is only fools who rush in,
I held my horses, kept them at bay.
I did not consider that if I were to start I should begin.
...

A story is told,
Of those that are bold.
The ones that are as strong as a stallion,
Who go out of their way to clinch the medallion.
...

Her mind is water,
It flows from what does, and does not matter.
For this reason,
she escapes the thoughts that are her prison.
...

When I feel as if things happen within my own right,
Remind me that I am only in favour of your sight.
When I think to myself that I am bright,
Grant me knowledge and wisdom, please shed on me the light.
...

There is a place I go to,
And there I find her too.
Not that we follow each other,
But maybe something tie us together.
...

13.

He is a man with a heart,
Which shelters humbly in its cage, where at.
In that little hut,
He wears some a hat.
...

Some praise the rains, because they need to grow.
All they have had is warmth and in baited breath waited to glow.

Some praise the rains,
...

There was a time indeed,
I tried out some deed.
And when at it, I paid heed.
...

She is an egg.
Her strength lies in her shape, head to leg.
She easily breaks across her shell.
But on her edges, she is toned well.
...

My ship is an emotional wreck.
It tells from the deck.
Sometimes I keep it in check,
But at moments it is all over my neck.
...

18.

I show her almost everyday,
Not just in the month of May,
That she is my mother,
And I have no other.
...

I have heard what you do to those who love you.
You pick them among the rams and the ewe.
You herd them as a flock,
All round the clock.
...

I always hang on the wall,
Where I am looked at, by all.
You will find me in a house or maybe in a hall.
From there, I am always expected to make a certain call.

The Best Poem Of David Kinyanjui

The First Time I Saw Her.

The first time I saw her,
even though it was from afar,
she made me go gaga!

Not that I am every Tom, Dick and Harry,
that I would hurry,
to jump everywhere like a pong ball,
calling everyone darling.

But the first time I saw her,
she captured my heart.
There is nothing I could abhor.

A lady so fine,
she ought not to freeze and shine.
Natural In setting,
she left me solo chanting.
