David Blair Poems

How wonderful
she said
You're 85.
What a long life.
...

It was a
beautiful sunrise.
Even in the
muddy trench
...

I write
a poem
in the hope
that someone
...

I loved a
Helen of Troy.
She left me
for another.
...

As in Life
so in Death
I found myself
ignored and insignificant.
...

Don't look afraid
or self-conscious...
you lost.
Make the best
...

When we (we) write
I tell my Mind
3 wee dots
is not proper punctuation.
...

She came back to me
after 3 months with another.
I saw the apprehension in her face...
would I throw her out?
...

I wish
I had
a million.
...

If
with my last breath
I can thank
whatever Deity

Does the Sun care
If we are Scottish
or English
or Welsh
...

My sister has
the kitten...
so energetic
and mischievous.

Our little son
Is hiding,
playing his game.

'Have you found him? '
...

Principles are nice but...?
What your parents believed in...?
...

15.

I discovered
I had this
beautiful thing
to destroy...
...

A woman started
to follow him.
She had 2
children with her...
...

I sat beside him
-a friend dying.
I held his hand
but it seemed

18.

Give yourself
a point
or two
if a fool

You reach an age (old)
when you're in a waiting room.
Don't confuse this with
a doctor's surgery
...

Under hypnosis
I described
my previous life.

The Best Poem Of David Blair

The Survivor

How wonderful
she said
You're 85.
What a long life.

Long...yes.
I'm a survivor
and my body
aches a lot.

My mind only
works fitfully
and one thing
she should understand.

Being a survivor
I had to see
a generation
vanish around me.

Family and friends
all departed
to the great
unknown forever.

I am still
here but
at what
an emotional price.
