The Next Life Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

The Next Life

Reincarnation,
Does it exist?
It's always nice to think that way,
Does death come with a mysterious twist?
I wonder,
Who was I,
In a previous life?
Maybe rich?
Maybe famous?
Maybe someone else's wife?
I could have been a famous queen,
Who sat upon a throne,
I could have been a cute little dog,
Where often I would roam,
Or maybe an evil pirate,
That sailed upon the sea,
The thought has often crossed my mind,
But I will never know,
I hope there is another life,
When it's my time to go.
