The Intoxication Of Words Poem by Rajendra Prasad Meena Jaipur India

The Intoxication Of Words

Perhaps I was lost for a while—
not in a bottle,
but somewhere between a thought and a dream.
Some noticed.
Some did not.

Morning came,
and the haze disappeared.

But the words remained.

A memory became a line,
a line became a poem,
and the poem became a small flame
I could leave behind.

If someone finds warmth in it,
if someone remembers,
if someone begins to dream again,
then perhaps nothing was lost.
For I would rather drink from the well of imagination
than from a bottle that teaches me to forget.

Let others chase the night.

I will follow the words—
deeper into silence,
deeper into memory,
until even my fading moments
have somewhere to live.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A poem about choosing the intoxication of creativity over alcohol—where dreams, memories, and words become a deeper kind of escape. It celebrates poetry as a way to stay awake, preserve memories, inspire others, and leave something meaningful behind.
