The Burning Bird Poem by RAJAT GHOSH

The Burning Bird

It was a rainy dusky day, painful perhaps,
A solitary building trembled in cloudy mishaps;
The littles had license to run homewards early,
He was waiting, cursing the day and delay duly.

Then She came amidst the hectic turmoil,
A battle it was, wouldn't it be proved a foil?
She was calm and composed, drenched in rain,
Her beauty heavily harboured a meditative pain.

He was ready to hold her charm, unparalleled,
Her static beauty would be captured, unharmed.
She was worried as he advanced stealthily,
She was perhaps weighing to leave quickly.

The thunder bloomed and lightning struck the tree,
O wonder! The burning bird is now completely free.
