Everyday Poem-30 ode To Orangutans In Odisha's Forest

Rating: 5.0

Mama! Mama!
Where have I come?
I can not recognize the trees or forest
There are four others like me in this distant land
I miss you and my friends
I miss the trees, flowers and fruits there
I am so afraid!
The unknown people(Are they called men?)
Snatched me from you
Oh Mama! You must be crying for me
The cruel men separated us
I do not know what fate lies for me
The other babies of my age are also crying
Oh! We are so afraid!
They put us in a box
We felt suffocated
How did we arrive here?
By air or river?
Mama! Mama! I am so afraid,
Can we meet ever?

I hope your good government will be able to give the necessary care and love to these endangered animals and if possible, be instrumental in bringing them back to the arms of their loving mother. A heartfelt and thoughtful write.

A very, very touching poem. A reader can feel the fear, sadness, and longings of these tender and innocent baby orangutans. Wonderfully expressed and presented.

Thanks for this poem that depicts a pathetic separation of offsprings from mother's and that too in a place which is not conducive.Hot topic now. Indicates how cruelty grasped man in his greed.

A somewhat sad but very truthful poem about the daily lives of millions of innocent animals taken from their natural environments and used—or abused—to satisfy human desires and needs.
